Performance of steel bridge deck pavement structure with ultra high performance concrete based on resin

摘要: This research investigated a pavement system on steel bridge decks that use epoxy resin (EP) bonded ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC). Through FEM analysis and static and dynamic bending fatigue tests of the composite structure, the influences of the interface of the pavement layer, reinforcement, and different paving materials on the structural performance were compared and analyzed. The results show that the resin bonded UHPC pavement structure can reduce the weld strain in the steel plate by about 32% and the relative deflection between ribs by about 52% under standard axial load conditions compared to traditional pavements. The EP bonding layer can nearly double the drawing strength of the pavement interface from 1.3 MPa, and improve the bending resistance of the UHPC structure on steel bridge decks by about 50%; the bending resistance of reinforced UHPC structures is twice that of unreinforced UHPC structure, and the dynamic deflection of the UHPC pavement structure increases exponentially with increasing fatigue load. The fatigue life is about 1.2 × 107 cycles under a fixed force of 9 kN and a dynamic deflection of 0.35 mm, which meets the requirements for fatigue performance of pavements on steel bridge decks under traffic conditions of large flow and heavy load.

泰州大桥结构健康监测系统设计

摘要:

依托泰州大桥工程概略论述了特大悬索桥梁结构的健康监测系统设计。泰州大桥结构健康监测系统由传感器子系统、数据采集与传输子系统、数据处理与控制子系统3个子系统构成。其中,泰州大桥数据采集与传输系统将传统的有线采集模式和新型的无线采集模式进行了融合,是国内外首次大规模应用。

Thermal fluid-structure interaction and coupled thermal-stress analysis in a cable stayed bridge exposed

摘要: In this paper, thermal fluid structure-interaction (TFSI) and coupled thermal-stress analysis are utilized to identify the effects of transient and steady-state heat-transfer on the vortex induced vibration and fatigue of a segmental bridge deck due to fire incidents. Numerical simulations of TFSI models of the deck are dedicated to calculate the lift and drag forces in addition to determining the lock-in regions once using fluid-structure interaction (FSI) models and another using TFSI models. Vorticity and thermal convection fields of three fire scenarios are simulated and analyzed. Simiu and Scanlan benchmark is used to validate the TFSI models, where a good agreement was manifested between the two results. Extended finite element method (XFEM) is adopted to create 3D models of the cable stayed bridge to simulate the fatigue of the deck considering three fire scenarios. Choi and Shin benchmark is used to validate the damaged models of the deck in which a good coincide was seen between them. The results revealed that TFSI models and coupled thermal-stress models are significant in detecting earlier vortex induced vibration and lock-in regions in addition to predicting damages and fatigue of the deck due to fire incidents.

三跨连续弹性支撑体系悬索桥结构体系设计研究

摘要:

南京长江第四大桥为主跨1 418 m三跨连续悬索桥,结构体系复杂,世界范围内较为少见。本文通过对三跨连续体系悬索桥矢跨比、索塔区支撑、纵向限位及竖向限位的比较研究,详细阐述了该结构体系的受力特点,并结合南京长江第四大桥的实际情况,提出了适合的结构体系形式。同时,三跨连续弹性支撑体系在悬索桥中首次应用,具有创新意义。

对公路桥梁剩余寿命评估时可变荷载取值的研究

文章以现行公路桥梁设计荷载为基础,采用后继服役期超越评估荷载的概率等于设计使用期超越设计荷载概率的原则,给出了现有公路桥梁结构可靠性评估时可变荷载取值的修正系数;利用时变安全可靠度理论,对现有结构的剩余寿命进行评估,提出了对可变荷载取值进行修正的方法。

Displacement and force analyses of piles in the pile-caisson composite structure under eccentric inclined

摘要: A novel anchorage for long-span suspension bridges, called pile-caisson composite structures, was recently proposed by the authors in an attempt to reduce the construction period and costs. This study aims to investigate the displacement and force behavior of piles in a pile-caisson composite structure under eccentric inclined loading considering different stratum features. To this end, both 1g model tests and three-dimensional numerical simulations were performed. Two groups of 1g model tests were used to validate the finite-element (FE) method. Parametric studies were then performed to investigate the effects of groundwater level, burial depth of the pile-caisson composite structure, and distribution of soil layers on the performance of the pile-caisson composite structure. The numerical analyses indicated that the influence of the groundwater level on the stability of the caisson was much greater than that of the piles. In addition, increasing the burial depth of the pile-caisson composite structure can assist in reducing the displacements and improving the stability of the pile-caisson composite structure. In addition, the distribution of soil layers can significantly affect the stability of the pile-caisson composite structure, especially the soil layer around the caisson.

Heuristic solution using decision tree model for enhanced XML schema matching of bridge structural calculation

摘要: Research on the quality of data in a structural calculation document (SCD) is lacking, although the SCD of a bridge is used as an essential reference during the entire lifecycle of the facility. XML Schema matching enables qualitative improvement of the stored data. This study aimed to enhance the applicability of XML Schema matching, which improves the speed and quality of information stored in bridge SCDs. First, the authors proposed a method of reducing the computing time for the schema matching of bridge SCDs. The computing speed of schema matching was increased by 13 to 1800 times by reducing the checking process of the correlations. Second, the authors developed a heuristic solution for selecting the optimal weight factors used in the matching process to maintain a high accuracy by introducing a decision tree. The decision tree model was built using the content elements stored in the SCD, design companies, bridge types, and weight factors as input variables, and the matching accuracy as the target variable. The inverse-calculation method was applied to extract the weight factors from the decision tree model for high-accuracy schema matching results.

三塔悬索桥整体刚度低,中塔选择对整个结构的受力有非常显著的影响。中塔的设计需要解决主缆在塔顶抗滑移安全系数问题和主梁跨中挠跨比问题这一对矛盾。文章介绍了泰州大桥中塔的受力特点和结构行为,在此基础上对其进行了结构选型,最终采用了纵向人字型的全钢索塔。介绍了钢塔的结构设计和对主要关键构造的处理和设计细节,包括厚板的焊缝设计、分叉点的结构处理、塔底钢塔柱与混凝土承台的连接方式及构造,以及根据起吊能力而进行的塔柱纵向分块设计。

我国铁路钢结构发展回顾与展望

摘要:

新中国成立以来我国铁路事业成就显著,在国民经济发展中发挥了重要作用,尤其是近15 年来高速铁路建设飞速发展,成为一张靓丽的国家名片。钢结构对于铁路发展起着不可替代且极为关键的作用,在铁路大跨度钢桥、高速铁路车站屋架结构等工程中获得广泛应用。站位于新的历史阶段,适时对我国铁路钢结构发展进行回顾和展望,具有一定的工程实践价值和理论研究价值。本文分别从材料、结构、使用规模的角度,对大跨度钢桥、车站屋架等铁路钢结构的发展进行了系统回顾;提出了我国铁路钢结构轻量化、装配化、信息化、耐久性和高韧性的技术发展趋势,总结了铁路钢结构在设计、施工、运维和材质等方面的未来重点工作。随着应用地域和环境的多样化,铁路钢结构仍然面临一系列有待攻克的技术难题,如耐候设计、海洋恶劣环境施工、高原少维护等,需持续加大研究投入以保障关键技术突破与运用。

research on the multilayer compartmental particle damper and its application methods on long-period bridge

摘要: Particle damping technology has attracted extensive research and engineering application interest in the field of vibration control due to its prominent advantages, including wide working frequency bands, ease of installation, longer durability and insensitivity to extreme temperatures. To introduce particle damping technology to long-period structure seismic control, a novel multilayer compartmental particle damper (MCPD) was proposed, and a 1/20 scale test model of a typical long-period self-anchored suspension bridge with a single tower was designed and fabricated. The model was subjected to a series of shaking table tests with and without the MCPD. The results showed that the seismic responses of the flexible or semi-flexible bridge towers of long-period bridges influence the seismic responses of the main beam. The MCPD can be conveniently installed on the main beam and bridge tower and can effectively reduce the longitudinal peak displacement and the root mean square acceleration of the main beam and tower. In addition, no particle accumulation was observed during the tests. A well-designed MCPD can achieve significant damping for long-period structures under seismic excitations of different intensities. These results indicate that the application of MCPDs for seismic control of single-tower self-anchored suspension bridges and other long-period structures is viable.

Major bridge development in Hong Kong, China—past, present and future

摘要: The first “modern” type of vehicular bridge was built in Hong Kong China in the 1920s. The need for an efficient transportation system to cope with population growth and enable economic development has demanded the construction of more and more bridges since the middle of the 20th century. By 2007, Hong Kong had a total of about 1300 vehicular bridges. Four of these bridges, including the Tsing Ma Bridge, Kap Shui Mun Bridge, Ting Kau Bridge, and the cable-stayed bridge on the Hong Kong- Shenzhen Western Corridor, are considered to be major bridges supported by cables. Currently, the Stonecutters Bridge on Route No. 8 is under construction and is expected to be completed in late 2009. At the same time, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge will be in its detailed design stage soon. While efforts have been made by bridge builders to construct these giant structures, the upkeeping of these valuable assets at a high standard and ensuring their continuous functioning and performance during their intended lifespans will be another important task for bridge engineers. Wind and structural health monitoring system (WASHMS) will play a key role in this respect.
